Friday Joke- The Parrot

A woman was thinking about finding a pet to help keep her company at home. She decided she would like to find a beautiful parrot; it wouldn't be as much work as a dog, and it would be fun to hear it speak. She went to a pet shop and immediately spotted a large beautiful parrot. She went to the owner of the store and asked how much. The owner said it was just $50. Delighted that such a rare looking beautiful bird wasn't more expensive, she agreed to buy it. The owner looked at her and said, "Look, I should tell you first that this bird used to live in a whore house. Sometimes it says some pretty vulgar stuff."  The woman thought about this but decided she would buy it anyway. The pet shop owner sold her the bird and she took it home. She hung the bird's cage up in the living room and waited for it to say something. The bird looked around the room, then at her, and said, "New house, new madam."  The woman was a bit shocked at the implication, but t...

If I Told You Once

If I told you once  I told you a thousand times my dear  Never to fall in love with a man  Who drinks from the well of despair  I thought from the very start I'd made it quite clear  I fear  Now you're righteously fucked  As you swing from the rope  At the top of the stairs  If I told you once I told you twice  I was held in the grip of incurable vice  Lips turning blue like the shade of your eyes  Limbs shudder and twitch as you met your demise  You must've looked pretty as you stepped off the chair  Pink satin slippers how they danced in the air  Your dainty toes swelled to an alarming degree  Hope you were thinking of me  Hope you were thinking of me  Thinking of me  If I told you twice I told you two thousand times my dear  Never to fall in love with a man  Who's broken beyond all repair   I knew from the very start  ...

Tricking Astrid (ch 18)

Calder was nearing the end of the most boring double date he'd ever been on when Astrid called his phone. He excused himself, hurrying to answer. The attendant in the men's room was the only one present thankfully. "Calder," Astrid sounded distraught, raising his concern immediately, "I'm sorry, I had no one else to call. I need a buddy." "What's going on?" "Can you pick me up?" she sniffed loudly over the line, "I have no idea where I am. The street signs say James and McLarrow. It's downtown in a bad neighborhood." He frowned, turning his back when his brother Cody entered, "No problem. Are you okay until I get there? Why the hell are you even in that part of town?" "Remy," she sighed hard, and he heard the pain behind it, "I'll tell you later." "Right... It's okay. I'll be there soon. Bye." Cody glared at him, "Dude, what the hell a...

Ruth Etting - Body and Soul (1930)

I'm lost in the dark,  Where is the spark For my love?  I'm lost in the night,  Holding the light Of my love.  The heavens opened and closed,  As well I might have supposed,  And I am left in dis abandon,  So far removed from all that I had planned on.   My days have grown so lonely,  For I have lost my one and only;  My pride has been humbled,  But I am his, body and soul.   I was a mere sensation,   My house of cards had no foundation,  Although it has tumbled, I still am his, body and soul.  What lies before me?  The future is stormy,  A winter that's gray and old;  Unless there's magic  The end will be tragic,  And echo the tale that's been told so often.  My life revolves about him,  What earthly good am I without him?  My castles have crumbled,   But I am his, body and soul.  What ...

Tricking Astrid (ch 17)

Astrid had a brand new attitude when Remy picked her up that evening. She had spent a lot of time reflecting after visiting Abner. He had opened her eyes to a lot of issues she'd been oblivious to. Some of the things he'd said had hurt but felt glad Abner had been honest. After all, she had come to him for answers about not only their previous relationship but about men in general. Their sexual partnership, Abner had said, was the only thing he missed about Astrid. He had been with numerous women of course but occasionally thought of her, of her tits and the wonderful way she used to get him off. Yet, by the time Astrid was leaving, feeling offended, he sat her down to really talk, saying he saw something in Astrid that he hadn't before. He said she seemed not only more self-assured but provocative in how she carried herself and how she looked at him. Astrid told Abner about Remy's rugged sexual preference in minimal detail. He pointed at her neck, g...

Sidekick

Sidekick   There was a long drive ahead of us. Sunshine drew down the shades welcoming dusk while I leaned against the window talking about fidelity and trust. When the road turned from paved to gravel, my heart dipped as low as the heavy trunk on the rural road.  Finding a place to disappear evidence of my eternal shame you tossed a shovel my way, not letting me forego my part in this incalculable game. What are best friends for if not to be put in impositions such as this? Or in this case,  being as deviant as we fucking wanna be? Joy4no1

Tricking Astrid (ch 16)

Remy knew Astrid was in the bedroom, next to the bed. He could see her shadow. The sweet girl thought she could hide when she'd trapped herself in in the corner? Not playing around, he swiftly walked over to where she crouched. Astrid let out a gasp at his approach, too late getting up. "Watch where you step, baby!" she shouted. Remy started, realizing he had stepped into a coil of a belt loop. She tugged, unbalancing him, and he fell backward. The surprise on Remy's face was priceless as he waved his arms to no avail. He smacked his head on the floor. Astrid went to leap over his prone form, but even though dazed, reached upward, catching her legs. She fell sideways against the bed frame. "That hurt," he growled, getting pissed now realizing how tricky she'd been at catching him unaware. This woman was amazing. Astrid kicked his jaw with her foot. The other he had secured in his hand as she writhed her body towards to mattress. A...
